UNA PLAGA DE MOSQUITOS

BUEEEENAS TARDES. Every thing well on the northern hemisphere? Here in Argentina we're experiencing some sort of horrible mosquito plague. It's awful. People are saying that because of all of the floods in the south of Argentina, all of the mosquitoes came up here for safety. They're every where. I've never used so much Off in my life... Could it be that we're in a real Moses-style plague here in Buenos Aires?

This week was great, and the cherry on top was the Chumacero family coming to church with us again. They're doing really well and progressing really well, and it's easy to see how many blessings they are receiving for progressing in the Gospel. I'm a bit low on time right now, but I wanted to share a bit form what I learned in my Book of Mormon study. I'm in Alma chapters 40-50. which are all about the wars and contentions between the Nephites and the Lamanites. And it's always been difficult for me to apply those chapters to my life! Lots of war strategy, bloodshed, things that I've never done. But I finished reading the chapters about a prophet named Helaman who sends an epistle to his friend and co-captain Moroni. And learning Helaman's two thousand stripling warriors, who fought with all their might and, more importantly, trusted in the Lord with all their might, I felt a strong testimony of God's power to protect those who are faithful well up with in my heart. I know that if we, like those two thousand young men, trust in the Lord with all of our hearts, and follow His every command with exactness, our Heavenly Father will protect us from physical and especially spiritual dangers that the adversary will send our way.

15 And this was their faith, that by so doing God would prosper them in the land, or in other words, if they were faithful in keeping the commandments of God that he would prosper them in the land; yea, warn them to flee, or to prepare for war, according to their danger;

16 And also, that God would make it known unto them whither they should go to defend themselves against their enemies, and by so doing, the Lord would deliver them; and this was the faith of Moroni, and his heart did glory in it; not in the shedding of blood but in doing good, in preserving his people, yea, in keeping the commandments of God, yea, and resisting iniquity.

I know that the scriptures are true, and that they testify of God's great protection over his children. Maybe most of us aren't in great physical danger, but all of us are in great spiritual danger in these latter days, and how grateful I am to have the scriptures, especially the Book of Mormon, to give us guidance in these turbulent times. God speaks to us today through His Holy Scriptures, and through His holy prophets. Trust in Him, and He will protect us!

Love you all, and hope you're all well. I am!
